Keep your hardware or replace it

Understand what you are paying for

There are many types of pricing, some more complex than others. Here are the three most common on the market right now. Pricing is our expertise. The headline rate never tells the whole story. We help you compare pricing structure, markup, fixed fees, equipment, and contract terms side by side.

01

Flat rate

A single advertised rate covers many transaction costs. Often simple to understand, but the total can be higher or lower depending on your volume and card mix.

02

Interchange plus

Card network costs are shown separately from the processor markup. Often easier to audit because the underlying costs and added margin are visible.

03

Passing off the fees

Many programs let businesses pass processing fees to their customers. Rules and compliance vary by state, card brand, and business type. Call us to compare options and find ways to reduce your costs.

Clear quote or blind quote?

Statement review

Share a recent merchant statement. We calculate your effective rate, identify recurring fees and fees charged for each transaction, and compare the complete cost, not only the advertised rate.

Blind quote

No current statement? Share the basics of your business, estimated monthly card volume, average ticket, and payment channels. We will clearly label assumptions so you know what the quote can and cannot establish.

Find your current effective rate

Use figures from one monthly statement. This calculator summarizes your current cost only; it is not a savings claim or processing quote.

Enter your statement totals Your effective rate equals total processing fees divided by total card volume.

A guided path from quote to launch

Switching should be deliberate, not disruptive. We stay involved through comparison, setup, testing, and the questions that follow.

STEP 01

Understand

Start with a statement review or blind quote and a conversation about how your business accepts payments today.

STEP 02

Compare

Review pricing, equipment, integrations, funding details, and contract terms side by side in plain language.

STEP 03

Configure & test

Coordinate the approved setup, confirm the workflow, and test the payment experience before the transition.

STEP 04

Launch & support

Move forward with a clear plan and a real point of contact for questions after your solution is in place.

Why we are different

Payment processing should not feel like a script. We take pride in educating business owners, answering the question actually being asked, and building relationships that continue beyond setup.

Education before recommendation We explain how the options work, where the tradeoffs are, and why a solution may fit your business, or why it may not.
Specific guidance, not canned answers Your workflow, goals, and challenges shape the conversation. You get thoughtful answers instead of a generic pitch.
Support built on relationships We stay attentive and accessible through evaluation, setup, and the questions that come after launch.

An honest comparison, even when the answer is “stay where you are”

We show the assumptions behind a quote, explain the tradeoffs, and give you room to compare. A recommendation should make sense for your business before you sign anything.

Questions worth asking before you switch

Good decisions start with the details. These are the questions we help business owners work through before choosing a processor, platform, or payment method.

What is an effective rate?

Your effective rate is the total processing fees on a statement divided by total card volume for the same period. It is a useful starting point because it captures more than the headline percentage, but it should still be reviewed alongside fixed fees, transaction mix, equipment, and contract terms.

What is interchange?

Interchange is part of the underlying cost of accepting card payments. It varies based on factors such as card type, transaction method, and data captured. In an interchange plus model, those costs are separated from the processor’s markup.

Why would I request a blind quote?

A blind quote can help when you do not have a current merchant statement or prefer not to share it. It uses details such as estimated volume, average ticket, business type, and payment channels, so assumptions should be shown clearly and the result should not be treated as a final statement comparison.

Will I need new hardware?

Not always. Compatibility depends on the equipment model, whether you own it, the processor and platform, software requirements, and current security standards. We will check what can realistically stay before recommending a replacement.

What should I review in a processing agreement?

Look beyond the quoted rate. Review the term length, renewal language, fee for ending the agreement early, equipment ownership or lease, reserve terms, funding schedule, PCI responsibilities, chargeback fees, monthly minimums, and every recurring fee.

How do surcharging and cash discount programs work?

They use different pricing and disclosure structures and are subject to card brand rules and applicable law. Eligibility and setup vary, so the program should be reviewed for your location, business type, payment channels, and customer experience before it is offered.

How can invoicing or text to pay help a service business?

They can give customers a secure way to pay remotely, collect deposits, or settle an invoice without visiting a counter. Available features such as recurring billing, reminders, or securely stored payment details depend on the selected provider and approved setup.

Can every business be approved?

No. Approval depends on underwriting, business verification, processing history, product or service type, and the policies of the available providers and financial institutions. We would rather set honest expectations than promise an approval we do not control.
